Biosketch: James O. Nwaba, Founder/CEO Abodo Business Solution Limited (ABSL)
James O. Nwaba holds two masters degrees, M.S. Industrial Chemistry from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria and M.S. Information and Telecommunication Systems from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He was the chairman of Task Force on Mentoring for the American Chemical Society, Maryland Chapter. He is a recipient of the Governor of Maryland’s Citation for positive contribution to the state and a recipient of the American Red Cross’s “Health and Safety” Hometown Heroes Award and Certificate of Merit for selfless and humane action in saving a life, the highest award given by the American Red Cross and bears the signature of the president of the United States of America - George W. Bush and the chairman of the American Red Cross.
James worked in various responsible positions at DAP, Inc., Performance Coatings Corporation (PCC), and Polymeric Systems, Inc. (PSI), chemical manufacturing companies for more than sixteen years.
He worked at DAP, Inc. for twelve years. He started as Quality control technician at the manufacturing facility located at North Point Blvd, Baltimore, Maryland, and moved way up to the ranks of Analytical Chemist I and Research and Development Chemist II. As Analytical Chemist I, James worked at their Research and Development Lab in Dayton Ohio USA, and Research & Development Chemist II at the Corporate Head Quarter’s Research & Development Lab located at 2400 Boston Street, Suite 200, Baltimore Maryland USA.
As QC Tech, James ensured that both raw materials and finished products conformed to both in-house and international standards such as ASTM and ISO specifications. In his role as Analytical Chemist, James provided analytical services, technical support, evaluated complaints and made recommendations for resolution, developed and validated test methods and procedures, evaluated analytical instruments and made recommendations for procurement, utilized various analytical instruments including FTIR, HPLC, GC, TGA, IR Microscope, XRF/XRD, Karl Fisher, pH meter for both chemical and physico-chemical analysis and shelf life, worked closely with QC Managers at various manufacturing facilities, and trained quality control personnel. As Research and Development Chemist II, James developed numerous new products based on various chemistries for various applications that were commercialized and reformulated existing products to leverage company competitiveness. He conducted scale ups, pilot testing, plant and field trial. He also developed application procedures and worked with marketing and sales departments to develop labels for both new and existing products. He worked with product safety department to establish specifications in conformance with both state and federal requirements. James has OSHA and other certificates.
Leaving DAP, Inc. James went to work at Performance Coatings Corporation as Sr. Chemist and Polymeric Systems, Inc, as Product Development Chemist where he performed duties similar to those at DAP, Inc.
James also held dignified positions in Nigeria prior to leaving for North America. He was the Founder/CEO Jnwaba Star Chemicals and Chemical Products, Acting Head of the Department of Integrated Science, Federal College of Education, Eha Amufu, Enugu State, Nigeria, and Director of Federal Ministry of Education Programs for teachers in Enugu State, Nigeria.
In all, James has more than fifteen years combined experience in Quality Control and Research and Development in chemical manufacturing companies as well as ownership of privately owned company before forming Abodo Business Solution Limited (ABSL).
